Red Tail Lights CD
Known for having one of the smoothest voices in country music, Jake Mathews' RED TAIL LIGHTS is a follow up to his 2004 release, "Time After Time", which was voted that year's Best Album by Country Music News.
Considered one of the most anticipated albums in recent years, RED TAIL LIGHTS reveals Mathews' maturity of voice and a new level of songwriting sophistication on the six tracks. Every one of the disc's songs are co-written by Mathews, exploring themes both personal and popular.
"I've taken my time with this album, writing and producing songs that I believe in. Time and experience; growing as an artist; and even being a dad, have all contributed to the overall feel of the project."
Radio listeners have already responded positively to Mathews' new music, with the first single from the new album, "If I Had It My Way", becoming a Top 10 hit and spending a whopping 30 weeks on the Canadian country music charts.
Mathews is no stranger to musical success. Born in Sudbury, Ontario, he began singing, playing guitar and writing his own music at age 14, inspired by his large musical family. In 2002 he released his self-titled debut CD which spawned several Top 20 radio and video hits including "That's How Long", "Rush", "I'm Gone" and "I'll Do You One Better". His 2004 release, "Time After Time", furthered Mathews' success at radio and featured the hit singles "Signs of You Everywhere," "Kings For A Day" and "Arizona On My Mind". The success led to national touring and nominations for Rising Star in 2003 and Independent Male Artist of the Year in 2004 and 2005 from the Canadian Country Music Association.
"It's exciting to be back," says Mathews of his return to the country music scene. "I'm excited for fans to hear, what I think is, my best material yet."
